[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]R[/dropcap]etired world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson revealed the name of his new scripted cannabis-themed comedy called “Rolling with the Punches.” The new show is loosely based on real life featuring a former boxer who turns to the cannabis market for the next chapter in his professional life.

Shooting for the series has begun at the Tyson Ranch office in El Segundo, California. The show will not be too far off from the real life experiences of Tyson and his involvement in the cannabis industry. Tyson’s real-life bodyguard Chuck Zito will play a bodyguard and Russell Peters will play Tyson’s best friend.

Tyson himself will also star in the show. “It’s simple. I’m playing a retired boxer who is growing marijuana,” Tyson told Page Six. “It’s basically me acting like me, so people can get a look at what my life could be like in different scenarios.”

According to Tyson’s business partner Rob Hickman, Joe Roth will produce the series. The show has been touted as a similar concept at Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Tyson Ranch is the former boxer’s 40-acre plot of land in California City, California where he will build a cannabis-themed resort. It will feature a cultivation school, an edible factory, a supply store and camping and glamping areas. Groundbreaking for the resort began last January. The plot is about an hour southwest of Death Valley National Park.

Per multiple laws and regulations, no advertising on Tyson’s premium cannabis line will be allowed on the show, however Tyson Ranch merchandise will be included. Tyson is himself a consumer and wants to bring his love for the plant to the world. “I smoke it all day, every day,” Tyson added.

According to The Wrap, many networks are interesting in the show. Hickman and Tyson are currently shooting for a 2019 premiere start date.
