This year marks the 15th year the Kottonmouth Kings have reigned over hip-hop punk rock. With 12 full-length albums under its belt, the Kottonmouth Kings (currently consisting of D-Loc, Daddy X, Johnny Richter, The Dirtball, Lou Dog, DJ Bobby B and Tax Man) is about to embark on another LP. Set to drop in August, the group unveiled its upcoming record Mile High cover art on—this should come as no surprise—April 20. The art depicting a joints smoking plane with a naked couple doing it doggy style as passengers went through five revisions before Best Buy would accept the final image to be shelved in its stores. While Best Buy didn’t accept the cover right off the bat, we find it quite fitting. Not only is the band closely associated to cannabis, but some of its members were first associated through a band they formed in high school called Doggy Style.
