Introducing the Sisters of CBD

[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]S[/dropcap]tressing the medical importance of cannabis, the self proclaimed “Sisters of the Valley” are fighting for their right to continue to grow and distribute CBD plants in Merced.  The group consists of Sister Kate and Sister Darcey who appear to be traditional nuns, but consider themselves a “new age order,” cultivating and distributing CBD in order to pay homage to traditional spiritual values while helping the community.

In an interview with ABC 30, Sister Kate states, “We spend no time on bended Knee but when we make our medicine it’s a prayerful environment, it’s a prayerful time.”

The Sisters have been producing various CBD products from their small garage and have run into a disagreement with the Merced City Council, who hopes to ban cannabis cultivation from the city completely, according to ABC 30.

Although the Council does not support the sisters’ mission, the Merced Planning Commission recently voted to continue allowing medical cannabis distribution. “ Embrace, regulate and tax” is all Sister Kate wants to Council to consider, which will not only benefit patients but Merced’s overall economy.
