Yerba Buena Collective in San Jose hits one out of the park with its Gooey Wreck, a cross between Afgooey and Trainwreck. Afgooey is a hybrid of an Afghan indica and a Maui Haze sativa—which is promising on its own. But it’s united with another hybrid from Arcata, the legendary Trainwreck. This nug is huge, barely fitting in an eighth bag, echoing the great size of some Lamb’s Bread we’ve seen. It’s got lime green tusks and colorful hairs and is pretty dense. Gooey’s heritage comes through in the amazingly sweet citrus and sour grapefruit smells, combined with the grassy notes of all sativas. But it’s not grassy at all on the smoke, just sweet and very strong. This “superhybrid” offers very multidimensional effects: zapping back pain in the body, and melting stress in the brain. Those suffering from multiple sclerosis, arthritis, chronic pain and migraines might find relief in this gorgeous plant.
