Cliff “Uncle Spliffy” Robinson launched his line of cannabis products on last week, at Oregon’s Finest in Portland, Oregon. Uncle Cliffy Pre-rolls will debut at cannabis retailers across Oregon. Robinson appeared at Oregon’s Finest on June 8 at 4:20 p.m. to promote his new product line. The event launch party was posted on Facebook.

Uncle Cliffy’s pre-rolls are filled with Gorilla Glue #4, the signature indica, or J1, the signature sativa. The organically-grown cannabis was produced by Portland’s Pistol Point Farms. The cannabis was grown using 50/50 blend of “super soil” and coco.

Robinson showed support for cannabis reform in Oregon, along with Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and city commissioner Chloe Eudaly. They supported SB-307 which would allow social consumption of cannabis in lounges. He also publicly endorsed a legalization measure in Connecticut, as he played basketball for UConn in the past. “Take the handcuffs off the plant,” he said. “Free the plant.” Robinson was once sarcastically called “Uncle Spliffy” by a reporter from the New York Post and the name stuck. “As someone who’s involved in the cannabis space, I want two things,” Robinson added. “One, I’m on the right side of this social issue. Two, whatever state we’re in, it is rolled out in a successful manner.”

Over the course of his career, the NBA All-Star has been suspended by the NBA for consuming cannabis three times. Robinson suffered a minor brain hemorrhage last March and he released a statement informing fans that he’s okay and in the recovery process. The brain hemorrhage, however, left the 50-year-old with some paralysis on his left side.

Robinson was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1989 and would go on to play for four additional NBA teams over the next 18 years. When Robinson left the NBA in 2007, he became a cannabis advocate.
