[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]O[/dropcap]n The Joe Rogan Experienceepisode #1169 on Sept. 6, Elon Musk smoked a large blunt with Joe Rogan during the live interview. The polymath and co-founder of SpaceX, PayPal, Tesla, Neuralink and OpenAI may have evolving views on cannabis, judging by his latest interview.

Just weeks ago, Musk toyed with the idea of privately selling Tesla shares at $420. Musk later clarified that “It seemed like better karma at $420 than at $419. But I was not on weed, to be clear. Weed is not helpful for productivity.” According to close confidants, Musk didn’t drink or smoke cannabis during college, and was always hyper-focused on his studies.

But Musk’s view of cannabis may change after trying it on The Joe Rogan Experience. Musk said on the show that he “almost never” smoked cannabis. “I’m not a regular smoker of weed,” Musk said. “I don’t actually notice any effect . . . I don’t find that it is very good for productivity.”

On the morning of Sept. 7, Tesla shares dipped 8 percent after Musk smoked cannabis, according to The Guardian. It’s difficult to know where to begin when discussing Musk’s endeavors. The South African has developed technology and products that are widely used today. He’s built the Hyperloop, artificial intelligence, groundbreaking jet fuels and plans on sending people to colonize Mars, to name a few projects. Musk, along with PayPal co-founder (and cannabis entrepreneur) Peter Thiel invested in Facebook, when it was still operated out of a Harvard dorm room.

Musk didn’t inhale much, but for a first-time smoker, it was probably enough to have a strong effect.
