Largely known for being the iconic frontman for legendary alt-rock band Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder is introducing a number of his hit solo musical projects live to Southern California. His recent escapades with a ukulele instigated his newest album, Ukulele Songs (Yeah, real creative title there, Ed), which he’s been promoting through his tours. Don’t misunderstand; this isn’t the distorted, lethargic sounding goodness of the grunge era, but rather a flirt with more uplifting musicality that is the Hawaiian instrument. With his heavy rock-ish vocals and the subtlety of the uke, Vedder’s new work is sure to astound old and new fans alike when contrasted with “Evenflow.” (Andy Cheng)
