Ditch Amazon Prime Day, Support Cannabis Instead

While we’re not here to argue about the state of the economy and our country, there is one thing that’s obvious—Amazon is becoming a leader in multiple industries. Today is the start of Amazon Prime Day and the giant corporation boasts about deals that are better than or equal to Black Friday. While it may seem exciting to get a great deal on things you’ve been holding off on, it’s essential to remember that Amazon is great for deals, but not for employees. Instead of buying from Amazon, save your money and buy from cannabis stores instead.

Amazon is reliable for its Prime-based, two-day shipping to customers. However, the employees who work to make that happen often suffer. Recently, The Seattle Times unveiled the terrible work environments set upon Amazon employees. Due to pressure of intense shipping deadlines, many employees only receive limited bathroom breaks. In order to maintain their workload, some have resorted to urinating in bottles so they can stay on top of their workload. “We are allowed to go [to the bathroom],” one anonymous worker told The Seattle Times, “but you can’t stay for that long.” Apparently four-six minutes is tolerated. Any more than that, and a single employee’s “tasks per hour” begin to drop. And this is just a single issue on employee’s rights. We’re not even going into detail regarding the company’s China-based work environments.

In the cannabis industry, businesses owners heavily rely on the support of their loyal customers to return and spend money. The internet is a vast and satisfying place to shop, plus now that Prime Day has been occurring for a few years now, other internet retailers will be jumping onto the “Christmas in July” bandwagon. Choose to spend your hard earned cash where it really counts!
