Dennis Rodman seized the opportunity to promote the cannabis-centric cryptocurrency company PotCoin at the historic nuclear summit on June 12, as President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un shook hands.
Rodman flew to Singapore just ahead of the scheduled nuclear summit. The former National Basketball Association (NBA) star’s relationship with Trump and the North Korean violent dictator goes back several years. Rodman starred on Celebrity Apprentice and All-Star Celebrity Apprentice with Trump. He also made several trips to North Korea since 2013 and personally knows Kim Jong Un, and he said that he doesn’t “look at him as a dictator.”

A representative from the cryptocurrency company spoke out about the summit. “The PotCoin team as a community has been incredibly supportive of Rodman’s peace mission from the beginning,” Shawn Perez, a PotCoin spokesman, told The Washington Post. “We’re thrilled to see how the political climate has improved between North Koreans and the U.S. since he became involved.”
The spokesman didn’t stop short of saying that Rodman deserves an award for helping to bring the two leaders together. “We at PotCoin definitely believe that Dennis Rodman deserves the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with President Trump and the Marshal Kim Jong Un,” Perez said.
According to Forbes, the price of PotCoin soared immediately after the summit. The price of PotCoin soared by 20 percent on Tuesday, adding $4 million to its market capitalization. Like most other cryptocurrencies, the market cap was much higher in January ($90 million) but had plummeted to around $20 million as faith in cryptocurrencies has fallen.
