On Tuesday, Sept.19, CannaSearch held a major job fair with over thirty cannabis-related companies set up for the event. The fair kicked off at 9 a.m. with crowds of job seekers coming throughout the day to pass out resumes and interview with company representatives. Canna Search advertised that over 500 jobs were available with more than $15 million in annual income available.

The job fair was held at Mile High Station in Denver. The event ran between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with an after hour’s networking opportunity from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cannasearch organized the event as there second large job search since recreational cannabis became legal in January.
The job fair had waves of people throughout the day, with over 700 people lined up outside at one point. Cannasearch has reported bringing in between 1,200 and 2,100 people during the event. Many of the prospective job seekers came from out of state, hoping to get in to the burgeoning cannabis industry. There was a large variety of potential jobs available from working with dispensaries and edible companies to jobs in auxiliary cannabis related businesses such as tour guides and more.
While many of the patrons came ready with their resumes to apply for jobs, that wasn’t all that CannaSearch was offering throughout the day. There were various informational booths set up as well as training sessions for the audience. CannaSearch was incredibly pleased with the turn out, posting: “Overall the job fair for cannabis succeeded in ways we never expected. It was amazing to see the event grow as big as it did.”
Many people—both local and out of state— have been looking at breaking into the cannabis industry in Colorado. Even on the lower end, the number of reported job seekers at the conference was more than double the available jobs advertised. CannaSearch hopes to hold future job fairs and following the growth of the industry, they hope even more jobs will be available at the next fair.
