How would you describe your company? What is your specialty?
Cigaweed LLC is first and foremost a niche company. Not only do we offer a specialty retail product but we also are a marketing and co-branding company. We make and manufacturer Cigaweed, a premium marijuana cigarette. We utilize our special packaging to create co-branding opportunities for companies who need branding, marketing or additional marketing. We accomplish this by being the market leader in premium marijuana cigarettes.We are in discussions with numerous marijuana farms who would like to co-brand with us, as they themselves have very little or no presence at all in retail stores. We are also talking to farms with a very large presence that want to add another product to their inventory and take advantage of our marketing strategies.
How and why did your company start up?
I had been making hand-rolled Cigaweed at my dispensary (Seattle Green Light Care Center) in west Seattle years ago and sold out every time I produced enough quantity. Rolling by hand was difficult but the consumers loved them. Later, I sold my dispensary and got out of retail for a while. I came back in when I saw the lack of quality pre-rolls. Everyone was doing the same old pre-rolls, and the consumer was still hiding in the corner smoking their pre-roll or lighting up their pipe. Our Cigaweed premium marijuana cigarettes allow the consumer to smoke freely in public without the stigmatism that goes with smoking a pipe or joint. Cigaweed products look exactly like a cigarette, and when you are with a group of cigarette smokers, who is going to know? You can now enjoy smoking with your friends without the evil eye from John Q. Public.
With the changing landscape of MMJ and recreational cannabis, what do you see as the biggest challenges to your progress as a company? Any advantages?
I think the changing landscape is a blessing for our company; we now will have more people than ever smoking legal marijuana, because those who did not previously have a card can now buy it. Our company is poised to take advantage of this explosive growth, as well as expansion into other states and other markets. We have a significant capital stack, we only hire the best people who know and understand marijuana, marketing, sales and trends. Cigaweed LLC will be the national leader in premium marijuana cigarettes. Our advantage is in the quality of the product we offer, no one can deliver the same quality as we do.
What do you hope to accomplish in the cannabis industry?
Our company was founded by two very like-minded people with the purpose of producing the best premium marijuana cigarettes on the market. We have accomplished this, however, we are always tinkering and trying to make our product better and better and better. We will never sit here and say “We have done it, time to quit.” We listen to consumer feedback and then go back to the drawing board and try to deliver on what the consumer is telling us. Consumer feedback is priceless, we always want to know what our consumers like and do not like.
Any sneak peeks on new products or news you’d like to share?
We do have several new products in beta testing, but it’s too early to talk about them. We will be launching a line of Cigaweed gear soon. One thing I can say about new products, we will be offering celebration boxes. We will do a camouflage box celebrating veterans day, a pink box celebrating breast cancer awareness, a red, white and blue box for the Fourth of July and others as well. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Cigaweed in each box will go to charities with the associated boxes.
