We’ve sampled medicated pretzels before. In fact, we’ve tried medicated chocolate covered pretzels before . . . but file these under “Stop the press.” Visually, these treats from Grand Terrace Caregivers in Riverside, have it all on lock. The M&M Pretzel is absolutely drowning in a white chocolate coating sprinkled with (you guessed it) M&Ms. The PB Overload Pretzel is doused with dark chocolate, a peanut butter coating and Reese’s Pieces. And they don’t skip on the candies, as you remove the pretzels from their bag, expect a bunch of M&Ms and Reese’s Pieces to fall off. Crunchy and crispy, these are surely what any sweet-toothed patient will want to lay a hand on when looking for a (literally) colorful and strong edible that is easy on the eyes . . . and heavy on the dome. That being said, the mental effects didn’t leave us murky or cloudy; instead our stone took the form of extreme tunnel vision as we were laser-focused for two to three hours straight on a number of mundane tasks, utterly absorbed, utterly medicated. Good for when you want to stay lucid, but still able to zone in on hobbies or sundry chores.
