Let’s answer the first question raised by the name of this pure and lovely indica from Royal Remedies in San Bernardino: Yes, Cherry OG does indeed smell and taste like cherries—or at least cherries aged to perfection, chopped up and mixed with fine cannabis and tamped into a pipe bowl. The buds are even small, dark and roundish like ripe cherries—qualities betraying the strain’s origins as a cross between Cherry Kush and OG Kush. We can’t say for sure whether the peculiarly uniform size of the buds are a product of skilled bud tenders or the nature of the strain itself, but regardless, we really liked knowing exactly how many bowls we could get out of each round “cherry.” We also loved the strain’s down-to-the-bones effects—a mind-bending, dream-like buzz not unlike the weightless sensation of drifting off to sleep—and the fact it lingered for three hours after just one bowl. With Cherry OG, a little goes a very long way, meaning it’s a good home treatment for those with severe arthritis, chronic migraines and nausea associated with chemotherapy.
