Chelsea Handler Launches Cannabis Fireside Chat Tour
[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]I[/dropcap]n lieu of Canada’s first day of recreational sales planned for Oct. 17, Chelsea Handler is launching a fireside chat tour with discussions surrounding cannabis and political activism. The tour is hosted by Civilized, a cannabis platform dedicated to elevating the perception of cannabis consumers.
The tour is billed as “A Civilized Conversation With Chelsea Handler,” and the Canadian tour dates include Calgary on Sept. 20, Vancouver on Sept. 21, Winnipeg on Sept. 22, Montreal on Oct. 4, Ottawa on Oct. 5, Toronto on Oct. 6 and Halifax on Oct. 7. Canada is still on track to begin recreational cannabis sales on Oct. 17.
“Chelsea Handler’s perspective, approach and humor galvanize and inspire her audiences edited wherever she goes,” Civilized publisher Derek Riedle told Ottawa Citizen. “I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with her again to take the pulse of the nation ahead of recreational cannabis legalization in Canada in October.” Riedle serve as moderator during the discussion.
It’s not the first time that Handler has gotten her hands into the cannabis industry. First, Handler announced her intention to release a line of cannabis last February. The actress felt right at home at a potential cannabis supplier and farm, prompting her to post photos from the excursion. Then she served as keynote speaker for the World Cannabis Congress in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
The 43-year-old actress doesn’t exactly hide the fact that she consumes cannabis. In an episode of Chelsea Does, called “Chelsea Does Drugs,” Handler visited Willie Nelson’s tour bus and later said that his edibles left her high for multiple days. She also indulged in ayahuasca at a spiritual ceremony in Peru.
Handler also launched a series entitled Chelsea. Unfortunately, Netflix cancelled the show after two seasons, a fate of many series under the network’s fast-paced turnaround.
