weed showCharlo Greene, who infamously ended her career as a news anchor for KTVA Anchorage after announcing on air, “F*ck this, I quit,” has re-launched her career with a new Los Angeles based show called, The Weed Show.

During the now celebrated broadcast back in 2014, Greene was covering the Alaska Cannabis Club that unbeknownst at the time she was also quietly running. Although Alaska had legalized medical cannabis back in 1998, Green’s frustrations with the stilted laws and slow moving legislation prompted her to make her exit from the broadcast public in order to draw attention to the fact that there was no comprehensive system put in place that would provide cannabis to the patients who needed it most.

Greene also felt that the timing of her exit was appropriate due to the fact that Alaska was about to vote on legalizing recreational cannabis and she wanted to get people talking, even if she had to take a sensationalistic approach. Green’s on air resignation seemed to have an impact as Alaska did vote to pass the recreational use of cannabis later that November.

Greene, whose real name is Charlene Egbe, had been a fierce cannabis advocate for many years and continued operating the Alaska Cannabis Club for two years before making to move to Los Angeles in 2016.

Green’s online broadcast, “The Weed Show” is streamed live on YouTube and Facebook five days a week in a 2,500-square-foot space, which allows plenty of room for a live studio audience. “The Weed Show” features influencers in the cannabis community as well as topical issues both fun and hard-hitting. Though Greene seems to have found her calling in the cannabis world, she was given the Courage in Media award from “High Times” magazine at their 40th anniversary party, she’s also had her share of bad luck.

Greene is currently facing up to 54 years in jail for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from her affiliation with two raids conducted at the Alaska Cannabis Club. It should be noted that these raids were conducted after recreational cannabis was made legal in Alaska. Currently out on bail, and still awaiting trial, Greene hopes “The Weed Show” is just the beginning of her new L.A. life.
