Taking influence from the careers of singers Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt, who banded together for their Trio record in 1987, modern singers Neko Case, K.D. Lang and Laura Veirs have their first outing together with case/lang/veirs. While Parton, Harris and Ronstadt’s record was a coming together of three of the most well-known country singers, case/lang/veirs brings together a much more musically diverse grouping. The songs and arrangements are ethereal, the harmonies wonderfully lush and each singer stretches and pushes their own limits to meet the others.
