[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]C[/dropcap]heba Hut, a cannabis-themed sub sandwich shop, is coming to Riverside, CaliforniaSo far, Cheba Hut has opened at least 22 franchises in California, Nevada, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Wisconsin.

According to the menu, sandwich selections include orders like White Widow which includes “grilled chicken breast smothered in our signature ranch dressing, topped with ‘shrooms, bacon and provolone” or Kali Mist which includes “roasted turkey breast, chipotle mayo, fresh jalapeños, bacon, pepper jack and avocado.”

Unfortunately the menu doesn’t include cannabis-infused items, but instead, it features sandwiches named after famed cannabis strains and cannabis references. “There are no edible marijuana ingredients in any of the food,” franchise owner Tyrone Myles told The Press-Enterprise. “Scott Jennings founded the company in 1998 and he used to deliver pizzas late at night. That’s where he got the concept that people get the munchies, so that became the theme. But it’s just a fun environment.”

Myles will oversee operations located in the “Inland Empire,” a Southern California region that encompasses Riverside, San Bernardino, Ontario and sometimes Palm Springs, depending on who you ask. “I’ll start out with one in Riverside, then one in Rancho Cucamonga and another in Temecula,” Myles added. “But I want to branch out. I’d like to open at least 10 locations from Apple Valley to Temecula.” A Cheba Hut representative provided CULTURE with photos of existing locations.

While it’s disappointing that no infused items will be available—beer is another story. Several Cheba Hut locations incorporate a beer menu featuring local craft beers. While there is a Subway, Quiznos and other sandwich shops in the area, you can’t exactly have a cold brew at those places, nor can you enjoy the cannabis-themed ambiance that is the main selling point of this venture.
