Cannabis Home Delivery Coming to Oregon

Cannabis Home DeliveryOregon will now allow adult cannabis consumers to have their favorite cannabis products delivered directly to their home.

The delivery program is part of a plan adopted by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC). According to WwKYC, 117 permits were authorized for delivery retailers within the state.

“We needed to make an adaptation to the cannabis tracking system to provide a document that would actually allow for the delivery of recreational marijuana to homes,” OLCC Spokesman Mark Pettinger said in his report.

As you would expect, there are a number of regulations regarding the home delivery of cannabis. Delivery services are only permitted to deliver cannabis within the city they are licensed in. All cannabis products must be carried in a secure container and safely stored in the delivery vehicle. No more than $3,000 worth of goods can be transported at once.  Deliveries can only take place between 8 am and 9 pm, to residential homes, and cannot be delivered to campgrounds, dorms, hotels or similar communal residences.

One of the first companies to get licensed was La Cannaisseur in Linnton, they are now permitted to service patients in Portland.

“It’s super exciting,” said Spencer Krutzler, manager of La Cannaisseur. “I definitely expect to put a smile on everyone’s face when we show up to that front door.”

The OLCC states that customers of cannabis deliveries must be over 21 years old, and that they must sign for the product and present valid identification. Krutzler says the entire transaction should be smooth and feel familiar.

“This is like, you’re going to call the pizza guy, then you’re going to call us,” said Krutzler. “We’re going to have a good time.”
