If you’ve spent any time in the Bay Area, chances are that you’ve run into Aunt Sandy’s edibles on more than one occasion. In fact, they are a regular item at the famed Blue Sky Coffeeshop—and Sandy even contributes to Oaksterdam’s “Methods of Ingestion” curriculum. With this in mind, her thoroughly professional cookbook is an excellent introduction to the various creative ways you can prepare meals with cannabis. She covers baked goods with quirky names (Bananacanna Fofana Nut Bars, anyone?), but also delves into beyond-the-norm, outside-the-box recipes such as Cannafire Buffalo Wings, Minestrone(!), Adobo Pork Chops and (our personal favorite) Gourmet Grilled Brie Sandwiches with Apricot Jam. You already know that you can make anything with cannabis—but Aunt Sandy proves it in spades, and she takes time to go over the basics, such as hygiene, dosage and storage. (Michael Carlos)
