SideOneDummy Records is once again bringing some of the hottest punk rock to Los Angeles, and it’s all in the name of providing wheelchairs to children and adults in need. Headlining the event is Pittsburgh punkers Anti-Flag, whose stance against war and corporatism and promotion of Greenpeace, Amnesty International and PETA made the band one of the most outspoken and progressive acts of the late 1990s. Also featured are The Black Pacific (featuring Jim Lindberg of Pennywise), Punk Rock Karaoke (comprised of members from NOFX, Bad Religion, The Adolescents and Social Distortion), San Francisco’s female-fronted Heartsounds and death metallers Destruction Made Simple—all housed under the rocking roof of The Key Club and benefiting the UPC Wheels For Humanity nonprofit. Since 1996, UPC has helped over 44,000 people living in some of the poorest countries such as Zimbabwe, Vietnam and Mexico find new mobility and a new life, free of charge. And don’t forget to check out the online auction as well, featuring donated items from Blink-182, Flogging Molly, The Bouncing Souls and Thrice, among others.
