Treat Yourself this Halloween with Savory Cannabis Snacks

[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]W[/dropcap]hen you’re a kid, dressing up on Halloween and trick-or-treating is what you live for. When you’re an adult who can just buy candy with no effort whatsoever, it’s not as thrilling. So if your plans are to stay home, keep the porch light off and binge watch shows or movies, then there’s one thing you absolutely need to have—snacks. Sure, you can pop a plate of frozen bagel bites into the microwave but the flavor is mediocre at best. Make your own, and you’ll be king or queen of the couch all night long.

 

Cannabis-Infused Pizza Bagel Treats

(Makes eight treats)

Ingredients

6 mini plain bagels, sliced in half

1/2 cups cannabis-infused pizza sauce

1/2 ounces pepperoni, chopped into small bits

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450. Place mini bagels on a sheet pan and bake for five minutes to create a toasted top.
  2. Remove from oven, and top bagels with sauce, cheese and pepperoni.

Three-Cheese Grilled Cheese

(Makes two sandwiches)

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted cannabis-infused butter, at room temperature

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

4 slices sourdough bread

4 slices cheddar cheese

4 slices swiss cheese

4 slices American cheese

4 slices of bacon, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt butter into pan. Place bread directly onto melted butter.
  2. Add 6 tablespoons of cheese onto each slice of bread. Flip once, ensuring the cheese side is now face down.
  3. Add slices of cheddar, Swiss and American cheese onto two slices bread. Cook until cheese is melted to preferences. Combine both slices and let cool for 3-4 minutes.

Honey BBQ Chicken Wings

Ingredients

Chicken

3 pounds of chicken wings

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Sauce

1 cup ketchup

1/3 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Prepare a rack that sits on a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken wings with baking powder and salt. Transfer to rack and bake for 30 minutes.
  3. Once 30 minutes have passed, increase temperature to 425 degrees for an addition 40-45 minutes (for maximum crispiness).
  4. While wings cook, add all sauce ingredients in a blender and pulse until well combined. Let simmer in a saucepan for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove wings from oven and let cool. Once cool, coat wings generously in wing sauce and serve with side of ranch, celery and carrots.
