With over a decade as a band now under their belt, Seattle’s own glorious pop punkers of Tacocat are back with an amazing fifth album, This Mess Is A Place. Under the guidance of producer Erik Blood, the quartet sounds as polished and poppy as it ever has while still retaining the clever, witty and cutting songwriting that made the band so endearing to begin with. Though the production quality, smoothness of the recordings and all around accessibility of the songs might catch old fans of the band’s more gritty output a bit off guard, This Mess Is A Place is sure to be its most successful album yet.
