How and when did your dispensary start up? 

Our Starbuds Southeast Aurora location opened its doors almost one year ago, on April 19, 2018.

What does your dispensary offer customers that they can’t find anywhere else? 

At Starbuds we strive to offer the best possible customer experience. With one of the biggest product selections in Colorado, we have something for everyone, and our knowledgeable budtenders are happy to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Rather than pre-packaging our bud, we serve our bud deli style, meaning customers have the opportunity to smell the flower, see the trichomes and even pick out their own nugs before making a purchase.

How has the cannabis industry changed since you have been in the business? Where would you like to see it go?

Having been in the business since the beginning of legalization in Colorado, we’ve seen the industry change quite a bit. As the stigma dies, cannabis businesses have become legitimized and more readily accepted. Ultimately, we hope to see national and even global legalization, allowing us to provide not only Colorado, but the rest of the world with the best possible dispensary experience.

What are the biggest challenges you face in this industry as a dispensary? . . . Biggest joys? 

The industry is constantly changing, new rules and regulations are put into effect, while old ones change, you always have to be on your toes and be ready to adapt. That being said, it’s all worth it when a customer leaves with a smile on their face, having found exactly what they’re looking for.

What is the one thing you want customers to know about your dispensary? 

Purchasing cannabis should be enjoyable, comfortable and educational. We’re here to help you find exactly what you’re looking for with a price point to match! If someone wanted to open a dispensary and get their feet wet in the industry, what advice or counsel would you give them? 

Go for it! With the industry being as new as it is, there’s always room for more budtenders, brands and entrepreneurs. It will be hard and it will take time, but in the end, it’s worth it!
