How would you describe your company? What is your specialty?

Ruby Cannabis Sugar is the premiere flexible edible. It offers a discreet and predictable cannabis experience that allows food to taste like food and can be incorporated into almost anything that you would normally use sugar for.

What do you offer consumers/clients that others don’t?

Ruby is all natural and just two ingredients–organic cane sugar and cannabinoid crystals. It is particularly unique because it is water soluble and free of binding agents and additives due to the patent-pending crystal fusion technology used to create it.

How and why did your company start up?

Our company was founded after Gary, our COO, discovered a way to infuse cannabis with sugar as a fast activating and easy to use MMJ solution to address the nation-wide epidemic of overuse of opioids and other painkillers. He specifically formulated a sublingual tablet made of sugar and cannabis extract to meet that need. He then introduced the product to Kelly, our CEO, a long time friend of Gary’s, an experienced entrepreneur and a strong supporter of cannabis. Kelly saw an opportunity to expand the uses for the technology Gary had created both in the recreational and MMJ, which led to the creation of Ruby Cannabis Sugar.

With the changing landscape of MMJ and recreational cannabis, what do you see as the biggest challenges to your progress as a company? Any advantages?

With the regulatory and political uncertainty hinging upon the results of the 2016 presidential election we see only legal restrictions of cannabis as a real challenge to Ruby’s success. We see the opportunity of this incredibly new cannabis economy and the legal industry as a whole as Ruby’s advantage in the market and extremely limited number of products currently available within it.

What are the goals and vision moving forward, for your company? Where do you see your company in five years?

We believe platform ingredients such as sugar and salt infused with cannabis will enable a new wave of culinary innovation within this industry. As a result of that expectation, we expect Ruby to both be a consumer facing product as well as a business-to-business enterprise ingredient to be included into other edibles as time goes on. We see Ruby being sold across multiple states for both MMJ and recreational uses where applicable (if not nation-wide should prohibition on cannabis end at a national level.)

What words of advice would you offer anyone seeking to enter the world of cannabis business?

Do it right, don’t cut corners. Look long term in your endeavor rather than a quick way to make a buck. This is a once in a generation opportunity to create and shape a new industry. The last time we saw a new industry like this was the dawn of the internet, and those who cut corners at the beginning are no longer here.

What do you hope to accomplish in the MMJ industry?

We hope Ruby will be approved for MMJ in states across the U.S. very soon. We are excited to provide an exceptionally high-quality product that allows people to enjoy the experience of cannabis while also enjoying the flavor of the foods they consume it though.

Any sneak peeks on new products or news you’d like to share?

We will soon be offering a sister product to Ruby—a cannabis infused salt. Stay tuned!
