Prepare Yourselves for Westworld Season 2

That genre represents the most basic form of action in the real world, full of vast, uninhabited desert landscapes, standoffs rife with anticipation, beautiful horses—these ingredients make for some of the best classic American action flicks. So it’s no surprise that many were infatuated with the aesthetic of Westworld when it came out on HBO last year. It has all of the makings of an idyllic Western, but with a major twist of course. Science fiction has been a popular genre for Hollywood over the past five-plus years, and the merging of Westerns with science fiction in this case gave birth to an entirely new kind of show. Westworld Season 2 comes out this weekend on Sunday, April 22, and since it’s happening over the 420 weekend, the CULTURE team is excited to share a few strains that will make anyone excited to check out the new season.
No Western is complete without some inspiration from the arguably one of the most famous Western stars. The strain which copies Wayne’s namesake is said to contain a bold piney and lemony scent, with a smooth exhale upon smoking. John Wayne OG is a potent indica and is perfect for treating various medical conditions, but a small amount would be just the right dose to sit down and relax after a long day.
Another staple Western actor, Clint Eastwood, made a name for himself in a few western flicks, he also branched out into action-based cop films like Dirty Harry too. One of the first things that’s apparent in Westworld Season 1 is that the robotic characters experience amnesia. Not in the way a human would experience amnesia, but rather a forced amnesia brought on by the controllers of these robotic individuals, who can manually access any robots memories and malfunctions, and control every portion of their lives. This strain, ironically called Amnesia Haze, is a potent sativa that will actually help you stay awake with an intense focus on the new season and episode.
To avoid any major spoilers of the first season, Westworld keeps you guessing who’s actually in control (aka who’s playing God). It may be a stretch, but perhaps smoking an indica like God’s Gift will give you the insight to understand some of the twists and turns that the team behind Westworld are throwing at us next. Plus a strain like this one will also remove any anxiety you may have lingering after a long day.
The name of this strain pretty much sums up the show’s first season. Another strong indica, Fucking Incredible will provide ultimate relaxation, while also maybe even bringing on some major giggles. Fortunately it’s not strong enough to completely couch-lock you, but will definitely put you in the mood for the dawning of a new season that will hopefully live up to its reputation.
