Live Loudly

Fall is my favorite time of year. The gorgeous leaves change colors,
the brisk weather brings such great relief from the harsh summer sun and I
finally get to break out my scarf collection. But, a dear friend of mine passed
away recently, so this Fall is not as enjoyable as it should be. As I watch the
leaves turn to yellow, orange and red, I feel reminded of all the good she has
done for my life, and I feel inspired to do more and to do better, for her. Luckily,
Ice-T graces our cover this month, and listening to him speak about living loud
and proud, conquering industries and breaking down barriers is also incredibly
inspirational. Instead of snuggling up by a fire with a pumpkin spice latte and
a stylish scarf, I feel compelled to stand up, volunteer and give back to the
community and people that have given me so much for so long.

Here at CULTURE, we have lost
so many great leaders in our community over the years, as we’ve been fighting
for legalization and regulation. Their efforts are the reason we have come so
far. Many people have lived, fought, been arrested, protested and died for the
legalization of cannabis in our country. Let their energy and dedication to
this cause be inspiration for you.

Whatever your fight, whether its cannabis legalization, social justice,
politics, equal rights, homeless advocacy, helping the CDC fight Ebola or any
other major issue plaguing our society; I hope you let the winds of dedication
and passion from those who have come and gone before us inspire you to be active
instead of passive this Fall. Let’s break down those barriers, strengthen our
community and continue to change perceptions and opinions across the globe.
Like our friend Ice-T, let’s live boldy and loudly.
