With a new self-titled album, synth-pop legend Ladytron marks two decades as a band and easily demonstrates why it is considered one of the best of the genre. Brimming with all of the dancey, hip-shaking grooves and enveloping, atmospheric production longtime fans could want, the new record sees the quartet continuing down the dusky, electronic path that it started 20 years ago. The beats are heavy, the analog synthesizers are thick and dynamic, and the vocals are as ethereal and eerie as they’ve ever been.
