How and when did your business start up?

We started Detroit Fudge Company (DFC) in 2015 due to seeing a need for quality and consistent medible products.

What’s the story behind the name of your business?

DFC was used so the proud people of Michigan would know that the products they love are completely sourced and produced in Michigan. Michigan has a great history around the world for being production savvy and manufacturing quality products for the consumer. We wanted to build on that great name and continue that “Michigan Pride” we all have here in this state.

What does your business offer patients that they can’t find anywhere else? Detroit Fudge has over 23 products and was founded on being able to supply the patients of Michigan with a consistent product every time. We take pride in testing every batch we make, and we use only high quality ingredients in everything we offer. We are proud to say that you can find us in many reputable centers across Michigan from Detroit all the way to Traverse City, and many places in between.

How has the cannabis industry changed since you have been in the business? Where would you like to see it go?

The industry has changed immensely. When everyone first set out, there were no real standards. We noticed this issue and decided to make an impact. That impact was to let the patients of our great state have access to a consistent and desirable form of medicine. It is our hope that the industry leaders will see how important this medicine is to people and continue the trend of testing everything as we have done.

What are the some of the challenges you have faced in this industry as a cannabis-related business?

The main issue we have experienced is that it is hard for us to stay within regulations while at the same time servicing our clientele.

What is the one thing you want patients/the public to know about your business?

We value our clientele, and we enjoy their feedback to continue escalating our great products and services.

What is the most important thing you hope to accomplish while in the medical cannabis community?

To have a positive impact on the MMJ community and help the “outsiders” realize the great efficacy of our medicine.
