8 small yams (sweet potatoes can be used as substitute)

2 cups fine granulated sugar

*4 tablespoons marijuana butter

1 teaspoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Peel outer skin from yams and slice into ½- to ¾-inch-thick circles. Rinse in cold water, drain and set aside. In a medium pot, bring water and sugar to a boil and add yams, butter, lemon juice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Return to boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 35 to 45 minutes, gently stirring every eight minutes or so until yams are tender.
