Once again, San Berdoo will be the home for the massive all-day, all-ages Paid Dues Festival and lifestyle event, featuring the best in indie rap. Touting this year’s lineup as the most ambitious yet, promoters Murs and Guerilla Union are setting up three stages for this powerhouse event: Paid Dues, Dues Paid and Grind Time Now. Featuring Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s Black Star reunion performance, other headliners include Immortal Technique, Slaughterhouse, Heavy Metal Kings, Rawth, Bun-B, E-40, Sage Francis, Andre Nickatina, P.O.S. Nipsey Hu$$le, Lil B, Visionaries and Dead Prez, among many more. This year, they’ve invited Grind Time Now, the largest battle rap league in the world, to take over the third stage, so don’t miss the emcee clashes between DJ Exile vs. Blu and Fashawn, and DJ Muggs vs. Sick Jacken (Psycho Realm), Bambu and Planet Asia. There’s also a new alliance between hip-hop and philanthropy, so don’t forget to show your support for the Paid Dues Habitat for Humanity Project to create affordable housing in Los Angeles County.
